Materials with character
The modular façade designed by CMC ARCHITECTS + UPSTRUCTURE is detailed, crafted and timeless. We work with premium materials such as glass, metal and textured, exposed concrete, referencing the area's industrial roots. Every apartment is defined by precise craftsmanship, high standards and generous glazed surfaces that flood the interiors with natural light.

A Space for you & the Future
SIDE combines living comfort with a rational approach to how the building works. Large windows and thoughtful architecture open the apartments to daylight, with energy class B, and heat recovery support efficient operation. Prefabricated bathrooms also help reduce the project's carbon footprint.

The SIDE in Smichov is part of a continuum of Prague's urban morphology, however, redefining former BROWNFIELD zones as new extensions of the city on the Left Bank of the Vltava River. We were inspired by the power of Smichov's industrial history and its shining moments, which are ever-present, and still seed our creative thinking as architects. The approach to the SIDE was about simple, timeless elegance contrasted with spirited character and color, bringing IDENTITY to a new living quarter for over 2,500 people here near the river in Prague's chic Smichov District.
We invented here at the SIDE a city within the City, with a special skyline and roof landscape, which gives it strong visual character. Our intention was to frame views with connection and meaning in the immediate context of the SIDE.
Our motto is just to '...live by the River', and to be anchored in a place where poetic history inspired architectural quality and a tactile urban space. On the SIDE Smíchov Living project we collaborate with the UPSTRUCTURE studio.
SIDE stands on Smíchov's new urban axis, where the energy of the neighbourhood fills the streets, the green calm of Císařská Louka is just around the corner, and the skyline of the historic centre is within easy reach. Bistros, culture, the railway station and fast connections to the centre create a natural balance between the city and a space to breathe.
